tear.gg (“we”) reviews League of Legends Ranked Solo/Duo games. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Questions go to info@tear.gg.
What we collect
- League of Legends data from Riot Games. Through Riot's official API we collect game data that Riot makes available to developers: players' Riot IDs, the player identifiers Riot issues to our app, summoner level, profile icon, ranked standing, and the records and timelines of ranked games. We collect it when someone looks up a player, and we sample ranked games to build the statistics and models behind the site.
- What you send us: the Riot IDs you search for.
- Technical data. Our hosting providers process the IP address and request details of each visit to deliver the site and keep it secure, and keep these logs for a limited time.
- Cookies. While the site is in private testing, one cookie remembers that you entered an access code. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
There are no user accounts: we don't ask for your name, email address or payment details.
How we use it
- To show player profiles, match histories and game reviews.
- To compute statistics and train the models that estimate win probability. Statistics and models are aggregates and don't identify anyone.
- To run, secure and fix the site.
We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing game analysis from game data Riot makes available. We don't sell data, share it for advertising, or give Riot's data to anyone else.
Who processes it
Vercel hosts the website; Google Cloud and Firebase store data and run our databases; Modal runs our computing. They process data on our behalf, in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Games shown on the site are kept so their reviews can be recomputed as our models improve.
- Games collected only for statistics are deleted two ranked seasons after the season they were played in.
- When Riot passes on a player's request to delete their data, or a player asks us directly, we delete or anonymize it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what we hold about your Riot account, or ask us to delete or anonymize it, by writing to info@tear.gg. We may ask you to show that the account is yours. Depending on where you live (for example the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may also have the right to correct or restrict how your data is processed, and to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
tear.gg isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them beyond the game data described above.
Changes
We'll post changes to this policy here and update the date at the top.
